XENIA — A big change is coming to the 2025 Greene County Fair sales.

According to a post on the Junior Fair Sales Facebook page on Oct. 9 as well as the fair website, not all animals will be in the ring during the auction.

”As you plan your 2025 GC 4-H projects please note that the GC Jr Fair Sales will be a Champion only live sale. Those that are selected as Grand and Reserve Champion in their species will participate in a live auction and online through Breeders World. All other exhibitors will be sold online through Breeders World. More information to come after the new year.”

In years past, all animals were sold during the live auction. In 2023, the fair teamed up with Breeders World for a combined live and online auction.

Breeders’ World reportedly sent an email survey to buyers asking if they preferred a champion only sale or a live sale.
