With 9:28 remaining, Shelby Collier leapt to get her head on a corner kick fired in by Nadia Lewis from just under 10 yards in front of the net. The Buccaneers applied relentless pressure after trailing 1-0 at the break, but didn’t begin to create solid scoring chances until the final 20 minutes. Collier nearly equaled the match on another header with just under 17 minutes remaining that Aubrie Northcutt as able to get in front of to maintain Fairborn’s lead.

The Skyhawks opened the scoring in the first half after Xenia committed a hand ball in the box, allowing Kait Alting a penalty kick which she converted midway through the period. Moore had Xenia’s best scoring chance during the first half, a crossing shot that Reese Ehresman made a heads up kick save clearance to keep Fairborn ahead.
