XENIA — City of Xenia officials recently released new renderings depicting concept plans for the Central Market Street Park and Market Street Promenade.

The plans are part of the neXtPlan, which is a 10-year development project in the city to create new structures and revitalize the downtown area in addition to improving parks, transportation and public utilities and services.

The renderings depict a park setting designed for hosting events near walking distance of other downtown fixtures. It’s location sits where a parking lot currently exists in front of the Xenia Towne Square complex off of W. Main Street.

City of Xenia officials noted in a social media post that the project’s developer, Dillin LLC, is preparing to request construction bids in order to finalize agreements for the infrastructure portion of the project. There is no set timetable for when any portion of the project will get underway.
