CEDARVILLE — The Division II Athletics Directors Association announced the 2022-23 recipients of the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Awards which includes 166 honorees from Cedarville University.
The Academic Achievement Awards, in its 16th year, is a program that recognizes the academic accomplishments of student- athletes at the Division II level.
In total, there were a record breaking 19,646 student-athletes from 196 institutions recognized for the 2022-23 Academic Achievement Awards.
This is the most student-athletes being recognized since the inception of the awards program.
In order for schools to be eligible, the athletic director must be a current dues paying member of the D2 ADA. The student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, have completed a minimum of two years (four semesters) of college level work at a two-year and/or four-year institution, and have been an active member of an intercollegiate team during his/her last academic year.
Cedarville No. 23 in Division II Pre-Season Poll
The Lady Jackets are ranked No. 23 in the 2023 United Soccer Coaches Division II Women’s Pre-Season Poll.
It’s the first time Cedarville has appeared in the women’s soccer pre-season Top 25 during the school’s NCAA era.
Last year’s squad produced a record-setting season in being ranked as high as 13th nationally and finishing 17-4-1.
The Lady Jackets won the G-MAC regular season trophy, took conference tournament runner-up honors for the third straight year, served as an NCAA Midwest Region host, and advanced to the second round.
CU begins this year’s campaign at Indianapolis on August 31 and then hosts Oklahoma Baptist in the home opener on September 2.
