Students in the McKinley Elementary Sharing Is Caring Club collected donations such as paper towels, toilet paper, and baby wipes for hurricane relief. While they were meeting, the students also assembled bags for Bridges of Hope with personal supplies such as wipes, new socks (donated by Walmart), hand warmers, and a variety of non-perishable snacks, complete with handwritten notes of encouragement. The hurricane relief project was completed in partnership with a local church that has coordinated a supply delivery to the Tennessee/North Carolina area to support families in need. The Sharing is Caring Club is growing, with 36 current members who collected a full truck load of donations.
