XENIA — Greene County voters were split on several new taxes in the November election, according to unofficial results from the board of elections.
Here is a rundown of the issues that don’t involve school districts.
Issue 4 failed 241-184. It was a 2.0 mill levy in Jefferson Township for general construction, reconstruction, resurfacing, and repair of roads and bridges. It was estimated to collect $85,000 annually for five years and cost the owner of a $100,000 home $70.
Issue 6 failed 612-605. It was a 1.5 mill continuing replacement levy in Spring Valley Township for general construction, reconstruction, and repairs of roads and bridges. It was estimated to collect $140,000 annually and cost the owner of a $100,000 home an additional $25 annually. The levy currently in place collects $82,000.
Issue 7 passed 661-553. It was a 3.0 mill continuing replacement levy in Spring Valley Township for the purpose of providing and maintaining fire apparatus, appliances, buildings, or sites thereof, or the payment of permanent, part-time, or volunteer firefighters or firefighting companies, or to provide ambulance or emergency medical services operated by a fire department or firefighting company. It is estimated to collect collect $305,000 and will cost the owner of a $100,000 an additional $36 year year. It currently collects $210,000.
Issue 8 failed 1,458-877. It was is a 3.5 mill additional levy in Xenia Township for general construction and roads estimated to collect $562,000 annually for five years. It would have cost the owner of a $100,000 home $123 per year.
Issue 17 passed 3,671-3,195. It was is a .6 mill replacement and increase levy for the Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Park District. A current .4 mill levy is being replaced along with an increase of .2 mills. The 10-year levy was estimated to collect $420,000 annually and will cost the owner of a $100,000 home an additional $9 annually. The levy in place currently collects $238,000.
Issue 22 failed 394-281. It was a 3.7 mill levy in the Village of Jamestown for police services. It was estimated to collect $125,000 annually for five years and cost the owner of a $100,000 home $130 annually.
