KETTERING — Several area high school football teams are going pink to show support for those battling breast cancer.

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which begins Oct. 1, Kettering Sports Medicine, Dayton Sports Medicine Institute, Kettering Breast Evaluation Centers and the schools are partnering to hold “Pink Games” at athletic events in October.

Athletic trainers will use pink towels and pink athletic tape at designated games in October. Pink footballs will be thrown into the stands.

Pink Games will be observed at the following area varsity football games:

Friday, Oct. 14

Roger Bacon at Carroll

Springfield Catholic Central at Cedarville

Xenia at West Carrollton

Friday, Oct. 21

Ben Logan at Greenon

Kettering Breast Evaluation Centers is reminding women about the importance of breast cancer screenings, and to schedule their mammogram at 1-800-373-2160. Women can take the “I WILL” challenge — and encourage other women to do the same. Early detection saves lives. For more information, visit ketteringhealth.org/breasthealth.
