BEAVERCREEK — The Beavercreek Popcorn Festival is celebrating 30 years of popcorn and fun this weekend.

The annual festival will be held on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 10-11 in front of Beavercreek Plaza, located at Dayton-Xenia Road between Fairfield and Meadow Bridge.

The weekend kicks off on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. with the 5K Popcorn Run, Fitness Walk, and Kids Fun Run. Register online for $20 (Kids Fun Run free) at itsyourrace.com. Packet pickup and race day registration for $30 will also be available at 7:30 a.m. in Shoup Park, 1341 Meadowbridge Drive.

The Grand Opening of the festival will be held at 10 a.m. and the night will end at 8 p.m.

Vendors from around the region will be present with over 200 booths featuring crafts, foods, services, and organizations. Craft vendors range from handmade jewelery and henna tattoos to essential oils and rag quilts. Food vendors will feature fresh donuts, cheese coneys, cider slushies and lots of popcorn — caramel popcorn, kettle corn, tropical fruit popcorn, and popcorn balls.

The event continues on Sunday at Shoup Park with the Popcorn Festival Car Show. The show is both an invitational and open class event. Registration for the open class will be held 9-12 p.m. Cost is $10 at the gate. Awards will be given around 3:30 for the Top 25. The invitational classes are: Street Rod, Street Machine, Sports Car, American Classic, Muscle Car and the Feature Class of ‘66.

Sunday’s festival hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Additional festival entertainment includes a children’s area and entertainment on the main stage in the Kroger parking lot. Entertainment includes live music, Beavercreek Dance, Zumba Fitness and Beavercreek High School Marching Band.
