YELLOW SPRINGS — Reading can be considered an invaluable piece of a happy, healthy life, which is why the booksellers of Yellow Springs will gather over the weekend to bring to life the 36th Annual Yellow Springs Book Fair.

The event is expected to bring more than 30 vendors from five different states who will offer a variety of books to the community — from children’s books, to comics, romance, to mystery stories, there will be something for all readers. This year’s event will take place from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20 at Mills Lawn Elementary School, 200 S. Walnut St. Admission to the event is free and is suitable for all ages.

The Book Fair will offer a chance to dig around for rare and collectible books, books by local authors and other timeless treasures. Thousands of used books will be available for prices as low as .25 cents.

Set-up is free and anyone is welcome to sell — whether a book lover, book seller or a business, large or small. Set-up starts at 7 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. Sellers must bring their own tables, chairs and canopies, if desired. There is no rain date. Contact Dark Star Books in Yellow Springs at 937-767-9400 for more information.
