CEDARVILLE — On Friday, April 15, Cedarville High School and the Cedarville High School Athletic Department unveiled their new baseball and softball fields.

The school district were able to use the new fields for the teams’ first home opener of the season against Ohio Heritage Conference opponent South Charleston Southeastern.

It was the first home game held on the school site in six seasons since the new school construction began in the spring of 2010.

Community members Pete Reese and his son Chris Reese, were honored prior to the game for their hours of volunteer work to assist in the project.

Superintendent Chad Mason, said of their commitment, “We now have some of the best quality facilities for any school our size in the State of Ohio and these two gentlemen were a critical component of making that happen. We cannot thank them enough for their dedication, expertise, and time necessary in the leadership and completion of this project.”

In recent years, Cedarville High School has been playing its high school softball and baseball home games at nearby Cedarville Community Park.
