Dayton Dutch Lions hosting tryout

DAYTON — The Dayton Dutch Lions FC are excited to announce an open tryout for its men’s soccer team that competes in the United Soccer League Premier Developmental League (USL PDL). The tryout will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday March 20, at DOC Stadium in West Carrollton.

The tryout will be run and overseen by head coach Sid van Druenen and his coaching staff. The day will start with a quick club presentation followed by a 30-45 minute training session and 11 vs. 11 games.

“We have a quality group of guys committed to our program already and we are hoping to fill the remaining spots on our roster” Coach van Druenen said.

The 2016 USL PDL season sees the Dayton Dutch Lions FC play, among others, against 2015 season champions KW United and 2014 season champions Michigan Bucks.

“It is a very strong league and we play in a very strong conference, making this, in my opinion, the best possible platform for aspiring professional players to train and compete in during the summer,” van Druenen said.

A $50 registration fee is charged to participate in the tryout. Payment via credit card, cash or money order will be available the morning of the tryout.

More information about the 2016 USL PDL League season can be found on the Dayton Dutch Lions FC website, www.ddlfc.com .
