Denny Shatto Memorial at Shady Bowl

Degraff, OH — It has been a rough season for Shady Bowl Speedway fans, drivers and staff, as the track has suffered so many rainouts. The weather forecast for today looks like a go. The Bowl will host the Denny Shatto Memorial for the late models. Shatto (Piqua) was a longtime car owner and builder. He fielded cars at just about every pavement race track in the area.

Shatto lost a battle with cancer several years ago leaving his racing operation to his son Kevin, who has done a great job carrying on the Shatto family tradition. Shatto has teamed up with driver Jim Lewis Jr, and the team is always near the front. The race, starting at 7 p.m., Saturday will be a 110 lap feature paying $2,000 to the winner. The modifieds, street stocks, Tuners and Compacts will also be in action. The Green County Flaggers will also be on hand.

The Roger Roush Classic, rained out last week, will be reset at a later date.
