Bellbrook hosting golf event

BELLBROOK — The Bellbrook-Sugarcreek area Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 24th annual golf outing, Thursday, August 20 at Sugar Valley Golf Club. Check-in begins at noon along with lunch, and a 1 p.m. shotgun start will kickoff the golf.

The event will cost $90 per player and included access to the golf course, a golf cart, food, refreshments and prizes. Teams and individuals must register by Aug. 15.

Businesses may sponsor the event to help out. Sponsorships range from $35 – $600 and include cart sponsors, prize tables, hole sponsors and more.

Dragons hosting yoga night

DAYTON — “Yoga in the Outfield” is coming to Fifth Third Field for the first time. Participants will take part in a one hour yoga class on the field with Ignite Yoga founder Justina Sanford from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Wednesday, August 19 at Fifth Third Field.

There will be a social event on the First Base Concourse, Milano’s Tap Room, and Fifth Third Cafe following the session. Food and beverage, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, will be available for purchase.

Admission to “Yoga in the Outfield” is $8.00 and includes a Lawn Ticket to a Dayton Dragons game on August 27 when the Dragons take on the Bowling Green Hot Rods at 7 p.m.

Participants are asked to bring their own yoga mat and there will be great prizes raffled off to participants. Visit www.daytondragons.com/yoga for more information and to purchase tickets.

Party in your Parks kicking off

BEAVERCREEK — Locals are invited to participate in the Party in Your Parks events this summer. Gather with your neighbors at a park near you to participate in games and activities organized by the City of Beavercreek Parks and Recreation Department.

The next events will be July 10 at Summerfield Park, July 24 at Virgallito Park, and Aug. 7 at Merrick Park.

Gerry Faust to speak at Carroll HS

RIVERSIDE — Coach Ben Rulli and the Carroll High School Football Team would like to invite the Carroll community to listen to legendary football coach Gerry Faust speak on FAITH, FAMILY, FRIENDS, and FOOTBALL.

His talk will take place in the Carroll gym starting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28. Admission is free.

Immediately following, in a separate event, Coach Faust will lead Dayton area parochial football players in a Rosary Rally to be held at the University of Dayton in front of Immaculate Conception Chapel. It is set to begin at 7 p.m.

Coach Faust was born in Dayton on May 21, 1935, and was an All-State quarterback for his father, Fuzzy, the coach at Chaminade High School. He earned three letters in football at the University of Dayton and was a teammate of former Carroll Coach Jim Spoerl. Over an18-season period, Faust led Cincinnati Moeller High School to a record of 174-17-2, 5 state championships, and 4 mythical national championships. He became the 24th head coach at The University of Notre Dame and compiled a record of 30-26-1 in five years. He resides in Akron with his wife, Marlene, and stays busy traveling and giving motivational talks inspired by his Catholic faith.
