BLACKLICK — Cedarville University gets the 2016-‘17 men’s golf season under way today at the Ohio Dominican University Kickoff Classic.

The one-day 36-hole event will be played with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. EDT at the Jefferson Country Club.

Fans can follow the action on social media.

Former Yellow Jacket golfer Ryan Bowen, who previously coached the team from 2001 through 2011, returns to the helm with eight players on the roster.

Senior Taylor Holt and junior Jordan Reese are the top returning players.

Holt, a native of Dayton, was an All-G-MAC performer last season. He paced CU with a 77.09 scoring average per 18 holes.

Reese, who prepped at Cedarville High School, was also voted to the G-MAC Team after tying for conference medalist honors. He averaged 77.87 for the season.

The Jackets have six tournaments on the fall schedule, hopefully culminating with a return trip to the NCCAA Championship on Oct. 24-26 in Panama City Beach, Fla.
