Old-time drag racing fun!

The eighth annual Gathering of the Geezers drag races and swap meet was held Saturday at Kil-Kare Dragway. Drag racing cars from 1983 and older were on display in the paddock area and on the quarter-mile cement drag strip. Anything from classic Model-T gassers to Phil Esz’ Top Alcohol Funny Car made passes down the drag strip, as a large crowd packed the south side stands. Drag racing’s past came alive when the Great Lakes Gassers made several exhibition passes throughout the day in their Anglias, Willys and old Chevys.
