SPRING VALLEY — He was first a teacher, then later attended medical school in Louisville. He opened his office in Spring Valley, where he treated patients in that and surrounding communities for more than 25 years. At first, he traveled from home to home by horse and buggy. His office was located in a front room of his home on Main Street and it was not unusual for him to receive eggs or produce in return for his medical services.
