XENIA —The Ohio Galaxies U15 boys soccer team gave back to their community on Dec. 18, which has supported the Galaxies team over the past year.
The members of the U15 Elite team, coached by David Korn, helped with the dinner meal preparation for homeless families in the Xenia area at the Schneider House of Hope, . The athletes helped clean up the shelter and worked on repair projects. Activities with the children were also set-up during the time that the U15 Team was at the Schneider House of Hope.
“I am proud that the boys got together to help area members in need,” said Nancy Shields, President of the Ohio Galaxies Futbol Club. “This shows their development in areas outside of sports.”
The Schneider House of Hope, located at 124 S. Detroit St. in Xenia, is a member of the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greene County, a nonprofit ministry committed to uniting the community in Greene County to provide shelter, meals and assistance to homeless families.
