Why is it up to Greene County to “bail out” the development of the Dille property? Our Greene County Commissioners will soon be considering whether to approve using $4.9 million dollars in future Greene County sales tax receipts to bail out the development of the Dille property on Wilmington Pike which was annexed to the city of Centerville! Centerville is primarily in Montgomery County. Let Centerville pay for this not us.

This means that there will be less money to help with other needs in Greene County like the Greene County library system, the Greene County Health Dept., MRDD, Council on Aging/Senior Citizens, Greene Vocational School, the county and local park districts, etc. anything the county funds with sales tax.

Centerville has already used our property taxes to provide Tax Increment Financin to finance (subsidize) the public infrastructure improvements for this property.

Why are we considering using more of our tax money to subsidize this development? Who is scratching whose back here? Hmmmm, this raises some concerns. Playing a little politics with our money?

The more tax dollars we give, the greater our tax burden becomes. We do have a say in how the Greene County Commissioners spend our tax money and it should be “No sales tax kickback” for this development and the city of Centerville! Enough is enough!
