YELLOW SPRINGS — Public radio station WYSO 91.3 FM has won two national reporting awards from PRNDI, the Public Radio News Directors organization.
WYSO took first place in the “continuing coverage - small newsroom” category for “The Affordable Care Act Rollout” by business and economics reporter Lewis Wallace. In the “best feature in a small newsroom” category, Wallace, with assistance from Sarah Buckingham, won second place for “Take a Tour of the Healthcare Marketplace with WYSO Reporters.”
WYSO General Manager Neenah Ellis says “These national awards prove that WYSO local news compares favorably with stations around Ohio and the rest of the country. We’ve worked hard to improve and increase our local news content and we’re proud to be recognized by PRNDI.”
Lewis Wallace came to WYSO from Chicago Public Radio in August 2013, where he was a Pritzker Journalism Fellow.
