XENIA — The Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission (MVRPC) announced the final round of public “open house” meetings for the Going Places initiative. Over the past several years, residents and leaders in the Miami Valley Region have told us what they want this region to be like in the future. Using this information, a draft list of implementation strategies, also known as “suggested tools,” has been developed as a way to make this vision happen.
The public is invited to come as you are, drop in when you can, stay as long as you like. Staff will be available to share information and solicit input on the draft implementation strategies/”suggested tools” which have been developed.
Local residents can attend the next open house from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20 at the Greene County Jobs and Family Services building, 541 Ledbetter Road, Xenia. Free refreshments will be available to attendees.
“Community feedback is the centerpiece of the Going Places initiative,” said Brian O. Martin, AICP, MVRPC’s Executive Director. “This will be the fourth and final opportunity for the public to weigh in on the work of the Going Places committees before the suggestions go to the MVRPC Board of Directors. We invite the public to attend and provide input at one of these meetings.”
At all MVRPC public participation meeting, interpreters for hearing-impaired individuals or bilingual interpreters are available upon request. Requests should be made at least one week prior to the meeting date. Contact MVRPC at 937-223-6323 or 1-800-750-0750 TTY/TDD to request an interpreter.
For those who are unable to attend, information is available for public review on MVRPC’s website at www.mvrpc.org/rlu. Residents can also review the information at the MVRPC offices, 1 S. Main Street, Suite 260, Dayton, during regular business hours 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
