XENIA — An experienced duo are the finalists to become the Superintendent Pro Tem for Xenia Community Schools.

Denny Morrison and Dale Dickson will undergo interviews at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, at the board offices at 819 Colorado Drive. Both of the candidates will make a presentation to the board and those in attendance while the public will have an opportunity to meet the candidates and provide written feedback to the board.

“The Xenia School Board… invites and encourages all members of the community to attend the public presentations,” Mark Manley, XCS administrative specialist said.

A brief reception will follow the presentations.

Denny Morrison is the former superintendent of Beavercreek Schools from 2002-2009. After retiring from that position, he went to work at Fairborn City Schools as that district’s director of curriculum and instruction. He then returned to Beavercreek as principal of Ankeney Middle School for the 2012-2013 year.

Dale Dickson was formerly superintendent at Berne Union and Walnut Twp. Local schools running both districts as a shared superintendent. He was in charge of some 1,600 students between the two districts. Prior to that, he was at the Perry-Hocking Educational Service Center.

“The Board of Education is working diligently to employ a leader to serve as the Superintendent Pro-Tem and run the district through July 31, 2014,” Manley said.
