XENIA — The Board of Directors of the Xenia Community Schools Foundation (XCSF) has announced that, as of January 2014, they have a new Executive Director. Barbara Stafford will be representing the Foundation Board as they move forward with their mission:

“The Xenia Community Schools Foundation attracts and connects the financial and human resources of the Xenia community to its classrooms, seeking to propel its faculty and students beyond current operational funding to more notable academic achievement.”

The Foundation is a non-profit organization, founded in 1985. It is governed by a Board of Directors, composed of representatives from the Xenia Area Chamber of Commerce, the Xenia Education Association and the Xenia Community Schools Board of Education. The XCSF provides grants to teachers and staff for projects that enhance educational opportunities for students. The Foundation awards an annual $3,000.00 scholarship to a graduating senior. In addition, the Xenia Community Schools Foundation hosts the annual Hall of Honor induction ceremony and dinner.

Barbara Stafford served on the Xenia Community Schools Board of Education for thirteen years. She has thirty-two years of experience in public administration and has served on a number of boards. She was the Xenia Community Schools representative to the Xenia City Council BRACA Board (Board for Recreation Arts and Cultural Activities) for 12 years. She recently represented the Board of Education on the X-Plan Steering Committee. She has lived in Xenia for thirty-seven years and her four children attended Xenia Community Schools.

“I am very excited about the opportunities this position provides for me to support the Xenia Community Schools in a new capacity. I strongly support the mission of the Foundation. I will be working hard to promote public awareness, to connect with the community and to promote financial support of the Foundation by private citizens and the business community.”- Barbara Stafford
