BEAVERCREEK — Honing their outdoor survival skills, participants in Greene County Parks & Trails’ Advanced Outdoor Skills camp learned to build a lean-to, cook supper over an open fire and use a map with compass to find buried treasure.

After spending the night in their lean-to, campers prepared their own pancake breakfast. The overnight camp was held at the newly opened Russ Nature Reserve in Beavercreek.

Campers were between 9-15 years old and had completed the basic outdoor skills camp. Additional summer camps are still available; call 937-562-6440, email abotkin@co.greene.oh.us or visit www.gcparkstrails.com for more information.
