SPRINGFIELD — Global Impact STEM Academy is still accepting a limited number of applications for the 2014-2015 school year.

Several successful recruitment events have been held throughout the year, generating local interest in STEM education. Global Impact currently has approximately 50 students enrolled. That number is slated to increase to 150 in the upcoming school year.

“Recruitment is going very well,” said Global Impact Director Josh Jennings. “There are so many opportunities in STEM fields. Parents and students are seeing many of the great things we’re doing here and they want to be a part of it. Now is the time to submit applications before all the spots are filled.”

Global Impact is the first bioscience-focused STEM school in the nation. It is an early-college high school founded in 2013 and is designed to create educational opportunities through applied learning and real-world problem solving curriculum in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. With a mastery curriculum focused on real-world, hands-on projects that foster student excellence, Global Impact is located at Clark State Community College.

Any current eighth or ninth graders who are interested in attending Global Impact can apply to enroll at http://globalimpactacademy.org/apply/. Contact Global Impact STEM Academy at 937-328-6600 or by email at info@globalimpactacademy.org with any questions.
