YELLOW SPRINGS — The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Yellow Springs will host “Hope: A Spiritual Virtue,” 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 17.

Hope is an optimistic attitude of mind based on an expectation of positive outcomes related to events in one’s life or the world at large. As a verb, its definitions include: “expect with confidence” and “to desire with anticipation.” The program will include exploring the concept of hope from different points of view, quotations about hope, and an opportunity to share individual stories of hope in our lives. In this era of widespread conflict, violence, and national divisiveness, what are your hopes? A light lunch of soup and bread follows the program. All are welcome.

Religious education classes are available for youth in preschool to sixth grade, beginning at 10 a.m.
