XENIA — Due to expected weather conditions for Thursday, April 3, the location of the Tornado Commemoration has been changed. It will now be held in the Hudson Meeting Room of the Xenia Community Library, 76 E. Market St. The event will begin promptly at 4:15 p.m.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of a tragic event that changed the course of history for the Xenia community. The 1974 tornado that devastated Xenia was a reminder of both the power of nature and the resiliency of our people. In recognition of this, the City of Xenia, the Greene County Historical Society, and the Greene County Libraries Xenia Branch will commemorate the victims and to recognize the efforts and leadership displayed in the recovery and rebuilding of the community.
