XENIA — Xenia Police promoted one and hired another to bring the division to full strength.

Jeff Osburn was promoted from detective to the rank of sergeant and will be assigned to patrol officer supervision. Osburn has 17 years of service with the police division which includes the last eight years in the criminal investigations section.

David Elliott was hired as a police officer and will be assigned to a field training officer. Elliott comes to the Xenia Police Division from Grandview Medical Center Police Department and brings a combination of 14 years of experience. A swearing-in ceremony was held July 29 in Xenia Municipal Court. Acting Judge David Mesaros administered a sworn oath to each individual.

The openings were created by a sergeant’s resignation. The police division now has all 45 authorized sworn positions filled.
