XENIA — The public is invited to attend Greene County’s annual Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign kickoff from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15 at The Greene Town Center located at 51 Plum St. in Beavercreek.
Local law enforcement personnel, first responders and coalition members will be present with information on the dangers of impaired driving. A mocktail contest will be held and the public is welcomed to participate in the vote for the best one. Competitors in the contest are Adobe Gilas, McCormick & Schmick’s, Soin Medical Center and Crazy Mango Bar & Bistro. The event is free to the public.
The kickoff serves as a reminder about law enforcement crackdowns on drunk driving this time of the year. Starting Aug. 15 and continuing through Sept. 1, local police will be aggressively targeting drunk drivers as part of a nationwide effort to end drunk driving and save lives.
The campaign will pair increased public awareness with high-visibility enforcement, resulting in fewer drunk drivers on Greene County roads.
