DARKE COUNTY - A Greenville woman was hospitalized after striking a tree Saturday morning south of Wayne Lakes.

Preliminary investigation showed that emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle crash on the 3300 block of State Route 121 South just before 10 a.m. It was reported that a female driver, identified as Lisa Hummel, of Greenville, was traveling northbound on State Route 121 when she lost control of a 1997 Oldsmobile Bravada at an ice and snow covered curve. The SUV went off the roadway, striking a tree and knocking the Hummel into the backseat of the vehicle. She was entrapped until emergency crews could free her from the wreckage.

Hummel was airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital from the scene where her condition was unknown.
