GREENVILLE - A man was cited after wrecking his vehicle while intoxicated at the traffic circle in Greenville early Saturday morning.
Emergency personnel responded to the crash to discover a Jeep Grand Cherokee on its side in front of the city building at 100 Public Square in Greenville. According to the Greenville Police Department a male driver, along with a male and female passenger, were traveling around the traffic circle when the driver lost control hitting a street lamp post and tipping the vehicle on its driver side.
All three occupants of the Jeep refused treatment. The driver was given a field sobriety test in front of the city building. He was then placed in handcuffs and transported to the Darke County Jail on a DUI charge. The passengers were released and left the scene on foot. The Jeep sustained damage, as did the street lamp, yield sign and some landscaping.
