COLUMBUS — This year at the Ohio State Fair, the Ohio Farm Bureau held a statewide competition in which county farm bureaus competed against one another to design the most unique agriculture-related watering can. The competition’s intent was to showcase agriculture across the state and help visitors learn more about the role that farmers play in food production.
This year’s grand champion was the Greene County Farm Bureau and the watering can designed by Connie Little of Beavercreek. Little is the student nutrition supervisor at Beavercreek City Schools and is an advocate of educating students about how their food is produced.
Beavercreek City Schools and the Greene County Farm Bureau have partnered to provide learning opportunities that increase the awareness of farming and the importance of eating healthy foods.
The watering can was on display at the fair and will be returned to Greene County.
