XENIA — Nearly 40 historically black colleges and universities were represented during a college fair recently.

Held by local HBCU alumni, First United Christian Church and the Rho Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, the event also featured a test taking boot camp, featuring the ACT and SAT. Amanda Jameson, a test preparation specialist, conducted the boot camp.

Focused on improving the performance of students on traditional tests used for college/university admission, the sponsoring alumni and organizations also wanted to have students “think HBCU” as they consider educational studies beyond high school.

More than 30 Greene and Clark county students attended.
