Spitler is APK officer

WILMINGTON — Wilmington College sophomore Samantha L. Spitler of Jamestown, is serving as vice president of the Wilmington College Alpha Phi Kappa Sorority. Spitler is majoring in exercise science and is a 2015 graduate of Greeneview High School.

The Alpha Phi Kappa Sorority was founded in 1921 and is the second oldest local sorority on campus. It’s composed of a group of girls from all different backgrounds, studying various majors. The purpose of the sorority is to promote its members in the areas of friendship, leadership and service. They are very active in events on campus, some of which include community service events such as Relay for life and Cardboard Village.

Hall is club officer

WILMINGTON — Wilmington College sophomore Mellonee P. Hall of Beavercreek, is serving as treasurer of the Delta Omega Theta at Wilmington College. Hall is majoring in sport management and is a 2014 graduate of Beavercreek High School.

Delta Omega Theta Sorority was founded by six women in 1907 and continues today as the oldest sorority, not only on WC’s campus, but is the oldest sorority on any Quaker campus. We strive to build sisterhood and tradition that will last for lifetimes to come. Delta Omega Theta seeks to build life-long friendships and personal development through shared values of commitment to the beliefs and spirit of the sorority, trust, loyalty, honesty, and altruism, in order to achieve success and preserve traditions.

Kent dean’s list

KENT — Kent State University announced its summer 2016 dean’s list. The following Greene County residents are named to the list: Dalia Alkhawaga of Dayton; Shilpa Reddy of Fairborn; Hafsa Hussain of Beavercreek and Walter Rzecznik of Beavercreek.
