Horticulture help available

Greene County News

GREENE COUNTY — OSU Extension Greene County Master Gardeners have organized Greeneline, a horticulture helpline. Greeneline is available 1-3 p.m. on Mondays, 1-4 p.m. on Wednesdays and 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Fridays at the extension offices, 100 Fairground Road, Xenia, to help solve gardening problems.

Appointments are not necessary for Greeneline. Interested individuals are asked to bring pictures and samples to aid in the diagnosis. Individuals are asked to bring samples enclosed in a bag or jar.

Greenline is a free service provided to the community by trained Master Gardener volunteers of Ohio State University. The Master Gardener Volunteers of Greene County are available to help homeowners with consumer-scale horticultural issues like garden pests or diseases.

If volunteers are unable to identify the problem, clients will be referred on to OSU’s Plant and Pest Diagnostic Clinic for further investigation at the client’s expense.
