XENIA — Improvement projects at the Lewis A. Jackson Regional Airport are on schedule, and the airport will close 6 a.m. Monday, May 2 for 30 days.

There will be no aircraft operations permitted during closure. Taxiway arrivals or departures are also forbidden. Owners/pilots are reminded to make sure their aircraft is off the field in time, or it will be here for a month. Hangar tenants will have normal access to their units.

Officials anticipate reopening the airport June 2, however owners/pilots should always check the airport NOTAM status prior to use or making plans.

Work scheduled to be completed in 2016 includes: Runway 7/25 resurfacing; taxiway C removal; construction of a new 75,000 square foot ramp east of the last hangar row; construction of a new run-up apron for runway 25 at the east end of taxiway A; and a new 7,500 square foot corporate box hangar.
