BELLBROOK — Bellbrook celebrates 200 years.

The Bellbrook Sugarcreek Park District is partnering with Bellbrook Chamber of Commerce and will be sponsoring a community picnic June 18 at Sackett-Wright Park, 3371 State Route 725 to include food trucks and a variety of activities dating back to the 1860s.

The centerpiece of the picnic will be an authentic 1860s baseball game featuring the Dayton Clodbusters and a local Bellbrook team of community members. The Community Picnic will be held from 11am-12:30pm with food available from Little Miami River Catering and Hunger Paynes Food Truck featuring modern food with 1860s era twists.

Please bring your picnic blanket or lawn chairs to enjoy the company of your neighbors and family. After the picnic, join us to watch the 1860’s vintage baseball game from 1-3:30 p.m. Baseball, as with all sporting events in the time period, was an event that brought the whole community together. It would include food and fun and was a source of pride for the community. This will be an era style baseball game without any modern conveniences.

There will be a moderator that will explain the differences between modern baseball and baseball played in the 1800s. This will be a fun learning experience for everyone and especially baseball enthusiasts. This free program is for all ages.
