Community invited to learn about health-topics

CEDARVILLE — Parish Nursing and Cedarville Family Practice are teaming up to present a variety of health-related topics to the community.

Starting Tuesday, April 19, individuals are welcomed to visit Grace Baptist Church, 109 N. Main St., for the Cedarville Health Fair kick-off event and following education series workshops.

Starting 7 a.m. until noon, officials will offer free health screenings, education about heart health, cancer-risk prevention and medication management. Starting at 7 p.m., the Cedarville Health Fair will begin its health education series with “Anxiety and Depression – It’s Not Just a Spiritual Problem”, in which RN Director Sharon Christman, Ph.D, of Parish Nursing, alongside Lauree Lawlor, FNP, of Cedarville Family Practice will speak.

The following month, the education series will present “Vitamins and Supplements: Facts and Myths”, in which Andrew Straw, PharmD, will present information related to the topic. The education series will wrap-up with “Nutrition in Health and Illness” by Sandy Shortt, Ph.D.

Each presentation as part of the education series takes place 7-9 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 109 N. Main St.
