WSU to host workshop focusing on leadership, engagement

FAIRBORN — Wright State University’s fifth annual Organizational Effectiveness Lecture Series will focus on leadership and employment engagement.

The title is: “Authentic Leadership and Employee Engagement: How to Build Trust, Overcome Cynicism, and Capture the Heart” and takes place 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 17 within the Berry Room of the Wright State University Nutter Center, 3640 Colonel Glenn Hwy.

Registration, breakfast and networking takes place 7:30-8:30 a.m., while the presentation occurs 8:30-10:30 a.m.

It costs $25 for Members of Partner Organizations through March 1, $30 for Members of Partner Organizations from March 2 until March 17, $10 for Students, which includes a hot breakfast.

During this event, Dr. David Bright, Wright State University, will share his expertise on authentic leadership and lead a panel discussion on the topic.

The panel of local business leaders includes Al Wofford of CDO Technologies, Jill Weaver of Wright-Patt Credit Union and Mark Combs of Combs Interior Specialties, Inc.

These individuals will share what they feel it means to be an authentic leader and how they view employee engagement. They will share what they do and discuss the virtues that create authenticity. Attendees will learn about the policies, structures and practices that enhance these virtues and build genuine, long-lasting employee engagement.

Attendees will earn two HRCI Business (Strategic) Credits. The use of the HRCI seal is not an endorsement by the HR Certification Institute of the quality of the activity.
