CEDARVILLE – The Epsilon Pi Lambda, an student organization with the History and Government department at Cedarville University, collected student signatures Friday, Sept. 11 in honor of the United States military. The purpose of the one-day campaign was to show support and appreciation for the troops who have sacrificed so much to defend our nation—specifically after the violent attacks on Sept. 11, but also to anyone who has or is serving.

The campaign raised awareness among the student body for how much soldiers have sacrificed so we can go to a Christian university and have the freedoms we do. The event was also intended to send love, prayers, and encouragement to the men and women who have served, are serving, or even have loved ones in harms way or have lost someone special.

Approximately 200 students signed the sign today.

Leading the effort were Christian Townsend, a junior History and Political Science major from Indianapolis, IN and junior Leah Winey, a history education major from Cedarville, Ohio.
