BEAVERCREEK – Beavercreek Police Chief Dennis L. Evers will be the guest speaker at the September meeting of the Beavercreek Republican Women’s Club on Sept. 14.
Chief Evers started his law enforcement career in 1977 with the Sugarcreek Township Police Department. After serving as a patrol officer, sergeant and lieutenant, and Supervisor of the Greene County Cooperative Crime Unit targeting robberies and thefts in Greene County, Chief Evers began working in the Beavercreek Police Department in 1982 and was eventually appointed Chief of Police in 2011.
The chief is a 1977 graduate of Wright State University with a bachelor of arts in political science. He has received extensive law enforcement training, and has been an instructor in polygraph techniques and interrogation methods. He is a graduate of the Police Executive Leadership College in Ohio. He has been on the Greene County Sexual Assault Advisory Board since its inception and helped develop the first county-wide protocol for handling of sexual assaults. Because of his broad background Chief Evers currently serves on the Criminal Justice Academy Advisory Boards for Sinclair Community College, Greene County Career Center and Clark State University.
Chief Evers has received numerous awards for his service during his career including the “Outstanding Community Service Award” from Greene County, “Exemplary Service Award” from the State of Ohio, “Police Officer of the Year” in 1993 and the “Leadership/Integrity Award” from the Beavercreek Police Department in 2003.
Evers will be speaking on law enforcement practices and the status of the Beavercreek Police Department currently.
This meeting will be held 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14 at the Beavercreek Church of the Nazarene, 1850 N. Fairfield Road.
