Local doctors become stars

XENIA & BEAVERCREEK – In honor of the dedicated physicians at Greene Memorial Hospital and Soin Medical Center, administration and staff created a special star Walk of Fame in their honor.

The Physician Walk of Fame was created by Vice President of Patient Care Erica Schneider to recognize the hard work and devotion the physicians provide the two hospitals every day.

“We love our doctors,” she said. “We wanted to come up with a different way to recognize their hard work for Doctor’s Day, which was March 30, and beyond.”

The stars with the physician’s name were strategically placed throughout the hospitals where the doctor’s specialty is in demand. Schneider explained that for example an emergency room doctor would have the star near the emergency department.

“We really wanted to value the doctors since they make so many personal sacrifices in their lives to care for their patients each day,” she added.

The stars were a successful addition, Schneider said, as she has heard positive comments from patients, nurses and visitors. The doctors have even been seen taking selfies with their stars.

“The care provided at our hospitals is in partnership with our doctors and this is just another way to show our team’s commitment to each other,” she added. “We wanted to send a message about how important they are to all of us.”

There were approximately 40 stars to be found in the hallways at GMH and 130 at Soin. Staff plan to continue adding to the walk in the future.
