Hospitals to host prayer breakfasts

XENIA & BEAVERCREEK – Greene Memorial Hospital and Soin Medical Center will host their annual prayer breakfasts in honor of the National Day of Prayer.

Greene Memorial will hold its prayer breakfast Thursday, May 4 in the hospital cafeteria. Soin will hold its breakfast Thursday, May 11 in the Kumar Conference Center on the fifth floor of the Ollie Davis Building.

Greene Memorial has more than 40 years of tradition presenting the prayer breakfast and Soin is in its third year.

Kettering Health Network Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of Kettering Medical Center Terry Burns will be special speaker during the Greene Memorial event. Soin will welcome Kettering Health Network Spiritual Care Director Larry Kositsin to speak.

During the events, hospital officials will recognize individuals who have given outstanding service to the hospitals and communities. GMH will present the 33rd winner of the Ken Beams Award. Beams was the first staff chaplain at GMH and he served from 1977 until 1984.

“These events are beneficial in bringing the hospital and community together,” said Greene Memorial Chaplain Ron Swiger. “The prayer breakfasts honor National Day of Prayer and give us an opportunity to strengthen the community spirit together.”
