BEAVERCREEK — An expecting mother’s birth team often includes her family, doctors, and nurses — and now, women giving birth at Soin Medical Center have the option to include a midwife.

Are you considering a midwife? Soin Medical Center is hosting a seminar on Wednesday, March 29 from 5-7 p.m. in Soin’s Kumar Conference Center. Soin Medical Center is located at 3535 Pentagon Blvd.

The event begins with a mini health fair that features blood pressure checks, nutrition and maternity information, and a wheel of health. Refreshments will be served.

Certified Nurse Midwives Darla Baker and Andrea Carr will talk about midwifery services for pregnancy, childbirth, and care following birth. Baker and Carr have privileges at Soin Medical Center, where they can provide natural birth experiences as well as pharmacologic pain management. They provide full-scope obstetric and gynecologic care for women from puberty through menopause, including well-woman gynecologic care, family planning consultations and contraception, pre-conception counseling, and pregnancy and childbirth care.

The event is free but seating is limited. To register, call 937-558-3988 or visit www.ketteringhealth.org/healthcalendar

Everyone who pre-registers and attends the event will be entered into a drawing for a new jogging stroller.
