XENIA TOWNSHIP — A Springfield man died after a single-vehicle crash on US Route 68 March 20.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol told WDTN that 46-year-old John Glatfelter Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene after his pick-up truck drifted off the left side of the road and swerved back across 68, running off the right side of the road and through a fence around 6 a.m.
The truck drove through a yard, hitting the corner of a building and slamming into a tree just north of State Route 235.
OSP told WDTN Glatfelter was not wearing a seatbelt during the crash and alcohol and drugs are not suspected as factors. The patrol believes a medical issue may have caused the crash because there was no evidence of braking.
The crash remains under investigation.
