XENIA — Xenia Area Community Theater (X*ACT) is holding its Celebrity Comedy Theater Thursday, July 30 at Caesar Creek Vineyards.

An annual fundraising event, the theater will feature some local “celebrities” in starring roles.

Mary Crockett from Xenia’s Department of Development will join long-time Xenia Board of Education member William Spahr, city council President Mike Engle, Alan King, X*ACT’s non-actor president and several members of X*ACT’s acting troupe to form the “On the Road Players.”

Return with the actors to the early days of radio and television with Abbot and Costello’s classic “Who’s on First” and Lucille Ball’s “Vitameatavegamin” commercial. These gems are interspersed with several one-act plays and an old-time commercial or two.

A single performance will be held 7:30 p.m. at the Caesar Creek Vineyards, 962 Long Road near New Jasper.

“This show is really neat,” King said. “Well, maybe not neat, but certainly better than a sharp stick in the eye. It’s a lot of fun, anyway.”

Tickets for this X*ACT fundraiser are $17 at the door; $14 for seniors and students. X*ACT members are eligible for a 10 percent discount on tickets. Sellout crowds are expected, so make your ticket reservations now, as seating is limited.

For more information and reservations contact X*ACT at 937-372-0516 or order on-line with a small fee through Ticketleap at www.XeniaAct.org. Sponsors are Greene Memorial Hospital, Harcourt Tire and Auto Service, and Caesar Creek Vineyards.
