CSU seeking public input for accreditation

WILBERFORCE — Central State University is inviting the public to comment about the university in preparation for a periodic evaluation by the Higher Learning Commission.

The HLC is a regional accreditation agency that accredits degree-granting institutions of higher education located in the 19-state North Central region of the United States. Institutions are evaluated against a set of standards that institutions must meet to retain accreditation. Accreditation validates the quality of an institution as a whole and evaluates multiple aspects of an institution ranging from its academic offerings, governance and administration, mission, finances, and resources.

Central State, an 1890 Land-Grant University, has been accredited by HLC since 1949. A team of peer reviewers will visit campus in March 2017 to assess the institution’s ongoing ability to meet HLC’s Criteria for Accreditation.

Comments may be submitted to: Public Comment on Central State University, Higher Learning Commission, 230 S. LaSalle St., Suite 7-500, Chicago, IL 60604-1411.

The public may also submit comments on HLC’s website at www.hlcommission.org/comment. Comments must address substantive matters related to the quality of the institution or its academic programs. Comments must be signed and in writing. All comments must be received by Monday, Feb. 6.
