XENIA — A Xenia man was fatally shot early Thursday morning after an alleged fight between two men.

Justin Mapp, 19, was pronounced dead at Greene Memorial Hospital and Xenia resident Steven Bruce Brown Jr., 31, was arrested and charged with murder. Brown is being held in the Greene County Jail on a $20,000 cash bond.

According to police, they responded to a call of a shooting in the 700 block of N. Richard Drive shortly after 1 a.m. and upon arrival found Mapp with life-threatening injuries. Police learned that there was a physical altercation between the two males prior to the alleged shooting.

The incident is still under investigation and police were to confer with the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office regarding the charges Thursday morning. According to the Greene County Auditor website neither man owns the home. A press release from Xenia police indicated that Brown lived at that house.
