Retired teachers learn about Xenia schools

XENIA — The fall meeting of the Greene County Retired Teachers Association featured informational sessions from Xenia school administrators.

Superintendent Denny Morrison updated attendees about the positive things going on in the district, while Assistant Superintendent of Business Operations Christy Fielding spoke about the high school/middle school complex the district hopes to build.

She said with voter approval, planning and design would occur next year with construction to follow in 2018. More information can be found at www.xenia.k12.oh.us under facility plan.

Members ages 80 and older were also honored during the Aug. 24 meeting at United Methodist Presbyterian Church in Xenia.

The association’s next free pre-retirement planning seminar, for public school teachers and administrators within two years or retirement, will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4 at the Beavercreek Nazarene Church, 1850 N. The next GCRTA meeting will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16 at United Methodist Presbyterian Church in Xenia.
