COLUMBUS, Ind. — Centra Credit Union has named Xenia native Rick Silvers as the organization’s new president and CEO.

The Centra board of directors made the selection based on Silver’s history of leadership in the financial service industry, most recently as chief retail officer of Indiana based Teacher’s Credit Union.

“We are extremely pleased to have Rick lead Centra Credit Union as CEO/President,” said Loretta Burd, Chair of the Centra Board of Directors. “Rick is a successful executive who brings over 25 years of experience in the financial service industry.”

Silvers has already started his new role at Centra’s corporate headquarters in Columbus. The new credit union leader will work closely with Centra’s board of directors and senior management team to achieve Centra’s business goals and uphold high standards for member service.

“My responsibility now is to ensure that we continue to grow and develop our abilities so that we can consistently return that value,” Silvers said. “It is, simply put, about people helping people.”

Silvers has held various leadership roles throughout his career and has several years of credit union experience. Silvers is a graduate of University of Indianapolis with a Masters of Business Administration. He previously earned a Bachelor’s degree from Wright State University.

As an active supporter of organizations dedicated to education, financial literacy, and ending homelessness, Silvers had served as board member for various non-profits. Before moving to Columbus, he served on the board of WNIN, a local public broadcasting station and on the advisory board of Aurora INC., a nonprofit dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness. Silvers says he is excited to find new ways to serve Central and Southern Indiana.
