BEAVERCREEK — Jay Reddy’s second foray into the startup world has opened an office in Beavercreek.

While his company, NextGen Federal Systems, a high-tech firm providing information technology support and other professional services, is currently a small business, Reddy has high hopes for how big it could be someday.

Those aspirations include growing the company to “500-plus people” and going public through an IPO, Reddy said Wednesday at the Beavercreek office’s grand opening. Reddy estimated that “hundreds” of those jobs would be created in the Dayton area.

The Beavercreek office currently has 13 full-time employees, Reddy said.

So why look to bring his company to Beavercreek, within view of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base? According to Reddy, the area’s pedigree, his familiarity with customers like the National Air and Space Intelligence Center and Wright-Patt, as well as the Dayton area as a whole, were selling points.

“It’s very vibrant,” he said of the region. “It still has the best of both worlds: a small community, but has a lot of talent. … We need new, vibrant talent and I think this is a great place to get that.”

Reddy called the opening a proud moment.

“It’s also a reflection of my team and the hard work that they have done to get here,” he said. “It’s like a family event.”

Reddy’s previous venture, ProLogic, Inc., had an office in the Dayton area. According to Reddy, that business, which he also founded, grew to 360 employees before it was purchased in 2008.
